Yes - .Travel time adds to the length of that day. We like to take care of the wear and tare on the commute of our artists, and make sure they are always at their best. Total travel fee will be pre-determined based on (a) Mileage and (b) applicable tolls and (c) number of employees traveling (though most team members will car pool). Here are the details:
For artists with a car: The fee pertains to locations only outside of Brooklyn, Queens, Manhattan. .70 cents per mile round trip. Where parking and toll fees may be incurred, the amount will be included with the final payment. For locations that are 2 hours away or more the fee begins at $200. Locations that are 3 hours or more from NYC metro area require a day rate and hotel boarding and/or flight fare
For artists without a car: Locations may require an Uber/cab or car rental, which will be added onto the final amount. If public transportation is available the fares that have to be covered are: LIRR, Metro North and NJ Transit. For locations that are 1 hour or more away the fee of $25 per hour will be added to the travel fare. Locations that are 3 hours or more from NYC metro area require a day rate and hotel boarding and/or flight fare.
Additional Hair Fees -
- We ask that everyone other than the bride's hair be dry and straight (blow dried NOT flat ironed). Blow drying wet hair, tightly curled/kinkystraight will result in a blow drying fee of $25. This is because additional styling will take more of our team's time and take away from the originally planned schedule for the wedding day. This fee will be collected by the assigned lead artist or stylist for the day, which will be announced to the Bride in advance.
- There is an additional $50 styling fee for adding and styling clip-in extensions to hair (about 30 minutes of additional time).
DO I NEED A TRIAL?
I think a trial is always a good idea, but its not mandatory. It's important that you’re confident on your wedding day, and the fine-tuning during the trial is a big help.
WHAT HAPPENS AT THE TRIAL? / HOW SHOULD I PREPARE FOR MY TRIAL ?
It may be helpful to see the amount of makeup you’re comfortable wearing on a day-to-day basis. The hair stylists prefer that you arrive with clean, dry hair. In addition, it is our utmost desire that you feel beautiful on your wedding day and your input is so invaluable for us to accomplish this. We couldn’t do it without your guidance and assistance. We expect complete honesty and full collaboration between artist and client. We will begin with a verbal consultation; we request that you collect sample photos of the style of makeup, hair, dress and wedding day colors to bring to the trial session. Having your veil and hair accessories is recommended but not required. We will then re-create the look you desire for your wedding day. The trial will last approximately 2 hours service. A friend or a family member is welcomed to come with you.
WHERE ARE THE TRIALS HELD?
We offer several options. Trials are at Ellen’s home-studio in Brooklyn NY. Which is located near Prospect Park, The Brooklyn Botanical Garden and The Brooklyn Public Library. Only 15 minutes outside the city and easily accessible to public transportation (2, 3, 4,5, Q, B, C trains) and parking. There is an also an option to have a makeup trial with Ellen in NYC in Gramercy Park in NYC. Trials with FTDNY associates are either at Ellen’s home studio or at a TBD location. We can come to you as well for a trial.
CAN I HAVE MY TRIAL THE DAY OF MY ENGAGEMENT PICTURES?
Yes, but we don't recommend it, unless you wish to have the same wedding look in your engagement pictures.
YOU APPLY HAIR EXTENSIONS?
Yes the extension set consists of 8 - 10 pre clipped wefts. The texture of the extensions will be based on your hair texture. If you’re hair is curl resistant then it’s a great idea to implement extensions into you’re style to keep your curls popping for the duration of your event. The extensions can also be dyed and cut to match your real hair flawlessly. For inquiries about purchasing extensions please contact us for a consultation
DO YOU OFFER AIRBRUSH APPLICATION?
Airbrush service is available for the bride and entourage ladies at no additional cost.
WHAT IS AIRBRUSH FOUNDATION?
A light-weight makeup applied through an air gun machine that produces a thin, even layer of makeup and creates a very matte finish. How it’s used: A small amount of a very thin makeup designed for air brush use is put into a chamber of a gun. When the machine is turned on and the gun trigger pulled, a light spray of makeup comes out of the gun in a fine mist.
The fine mist of color covers the skin and gives the appearance of a flawless complexion. Since it’s such a fine mist your true skin tone shows through which makes it look more natural and not so much caked on. It will not transfer onto clothing. In professional photographs it looks amazing! Airbrush makeup is waterproof (bring on those tears!) and it won’t go anywhere until you wash it off. Be sure you don’t wipe away sweat/tears and instead ‘blot’. This will help guarantee your 16 hours of wear.
DO YOU OFFER FAUX EYELASH APPLICATION?
We are famous for our Faux Lash Design! We provide wedding parties with natural-looking individual designed eyelash application or a full set of falsies at no additional cost (if desired).

I also provide makeup for photo and video shoots, actor/model head shots, lessons, proms and group parties. My rates and availability vary for each service. Once the last person is done with makeup we do a touch up on everyone to ensure fierceness before I pack up to leave. If you would like us to stay with you for touch ups during your photos and ceremony there is an additional rate per hour. This rate begins after the last touch up. There is also a flat fee available for half and full day coverage. Please inquire to get more information about this helpful service
WILL MY HAIR AND MAKEUP LAST THROUGHOUT MY EVENT?
A professional makeup application holds up beautifully all day into the evening. There are key products used to prime the face and eyes for long lasting, tear proof wear. The only things that you will need to touch up are your lip color, a little blush and any shine from oily skin that can be controlled with blotting papers. You will need to have on hand a lipstick or gloss, a blush and some translucent powder or blotting papers. You can purchase the lip color from me or bring your own for me to look at. Based on the colors used, if I don’t have the products to purchase I will advise you in advance on what to purchase.

I love being able to create a signature look for my bride. I enjoy the process and really like being able to connect with my brides. This is the reason why I prefer to accommodate up to 5 people on my own. For larger groups I secure an additional artist. I prefer this time model for all of the FTDNY team artists as well. A second stylist is necessary for larger parties, or parties with time constraints, at a fee of $125 per stylist, Subject to availability. This is to make sure that our brides and the bridal party are gorgeous, relaxed and most of all…. ready on time
DO YOU REQUIRE A MINIMUM OF SERVICES?
Yes. All on-location events require a minimum of $300 in services and contract & deposit.
